People are invited to all sorts of events, and the text on the card should fit the event in both form and tone. The wording for a child's birthday party will read very differently from a wedding invitation, and a barbecue or a theme party asks for something light-hearted, whereas an invitation to a First Communion or confirmation is usually more formal. Where the occasion allows, a short poem or verse is always popular – for wedding invitations, for a golden or silver wedding anniversary and for milestone birthdays. The facts every invitation needs
