There are plenty of occasions that call for a funny invitation: a carnival or fancy-dress party, a theme party, New Year's Eve, a birthday or a kids' birthday, a pre-wedding party and many more.

The easiest option is to buy a card in a shop or from an online store – there are witty cards with jokes and comic motifs for almost every occasion. With a bit of creativity you can also make them yourself. The materials are found in most households or in any craft or stationery shop: some sturdy paper or card, a few funny motifs, something to decorate with and a joke or a witty line – done. If you can draw, add a small cartoon; if not, cut pictures and headlines out of magazines and arrange them as a little collage on the card, then add a matching line or a short joke.
