Invitations

A good invitation sets the mood before the party starts
Whenever a celebration is coming up – a birthday, a christening, an anniversary or just a get-together with colleagues – the guests need to hear about it early enough to keep the date free. A small circle of friends can simply be asked in person. For a bigger event a written invitation is the safer choice: it carries the date, the time and the place, and it can be pinned to the fridge.
The tone of the card should match the occasion. Cheerful invitations with a witty line or a comic motif work wonderfully for birthday parties, a theme party or a carnival party and put the guests in a good mood well before the first drink is poured. A Halloween invitation, on the other hand, may be as creepy as you like, while a baptism, wedding, First Communion or confirmation calls for something calm and festive. On the page funny invitations you will find more thoughts on which style fits which party.
